You have probably heard of this: “What you can’t put in your mouth, don’t put on your skin”. The same goes to the clothes softeners that touch our skin through our clothes and enter our organism through it.
In the production of clothes softeners, there are aromas used, which are extremely dangerous, especially for kids. That is why, while washing the clothes, especially those of the children, it is best to avoid using them.
Phthalates are often used in aromas production, and it is proven that they harm the hormone balance at animals. While using the clothes softeners, not only that we harm ourselves, but the environment too.
Besides the colors and aromas that they contain, the clothes softeners also contain ingredients for preservation, and one of them is the formaldehyde that causes allergies, even cancer, and because of which we are warned not to eat the lemon crust for example. But no one warns us no to use softeners.
Because all of the above mentioned, it is best that we turn to nature and make a softener by ourselves – a natural one. The ingredients are very simple: baking soda – aluminium free, aetheral oil and vinegar.
100 g baking soda
1,5 to 2 l warm water
800 g alcohol vinegar or apple vinegar
Aetheral oil – 20 drops
Take bigger pot (from 3 to 5 l, because of the chemical reaction). Put the water, vinegar and baking soda in it. Be ready to a chemical reaction from these ingredients. It will make plenty of bubbles. When the mixture calms down, pour it in a glassy pot in which you will keep the softener. Add the aetheral oil, close it and mix it well.
Additional advice: before every use, mix it well. Use 4 tablespoons of the softener after every washing.
