Annual mammogram is highly recommended by doctors for breast cancer prevention. However, it turns out that they are actually causing more harm than good to women’s health, though no one mentions this in public.
The sad reality is that breast cancer is enormous business and mammography is just a money making department.
According to a New York Times’ report “One of the largest and most meticulous studies of mammography ever done, involving 90,000 women and lasting a quarter-century, has added powerful new doubts about the value of the screening test for women of any age. It found that the death rates from breast cancer and from all causes were the same in women who got mammograms and those who did not. And the screening had harms: one in five cancers found with mammography and treated was not a threat to the woman’s health and did not need treatment such as chemotherapy, surgery or radiation.”
4 Important Facts about Mammograms
They are not as effective as we are said
It causes a lot of women to have radiation and chemo for no reason at all.
Around 1.6 million breast biopsies are done each year in the United States, from which 80% are negative, which poses the question do we really need to do this test imposed by the conventional medicine.
The main problem with mammograms is that they usually discover cancer in stage zero, which can actually be regressed without any medical treatment.
Mammograms don’t decrease the risks of death
According to a Canadian study with 90,000 participants in the period of 25 years, mammograms proved to save the lives of some women, but also to harm others.
Mammograms can lead to cancer
The mammogram procedure uses doses of ionizing radiation for the image creation in the same way as all x- rays. This ionized radiation can cause cancer by triggering mutations and other genetic damages.
Paul Yaswen, a cellular biologist and breast cancer research specialist stated:
“Our work shows that radiation can change the microenvironment of breast cells, and this in turn can allow the growth of abnormal cells with a long-lived phenotype that have a much greater potential to be cancerous.”
Apparently, mammography causes 75 cases of breast cancer for every 15 it detects.
A better alternative is thermography. It’s a simple, non-invasive method that doesn’t involve breast cancer risk.
Mammograms aren’t able to detect cancer till there are around 4 billion cells clumped together. Thermography on the other hand, can notice cancer formations at 256 cells size!
