The changes that occur on the nails always mean something – so, change in pigmentation and white spots usually mean that some vitamins are missing or we don’t take them enough, or indicate a problem with the thyroid gland. However, large and very visible changes usually indicate more serious problems.
Such was the case of this woman – she noticed that the dark feature along the nail on the index finger. She didn’t pay much attention on it, thinking it would withdraw itself. However, the line spread in time, so she decided to visit a doctor.
“As you can have moles on the skin, you can also have on the nails” said Dr Dan Stern.
The doctor told the woman she had cancer on the nail, and therefore had to be completely removed.
The nails on the thumbs both on toes and hands, are the most susceptible to cancer claws, and these are some of the possible symptoms of the disease:
-Very dark line on the nail
-Line faded at the edges
-Changes of the existing line
-History of disease of the patient
